Cardiff Edge

Lab space to rent in Cardiff

A dynamic life science campus

Five miles north of Cardiff city centre, nestled within a Nature Reserve on the River Taff, is Cardiff Edge, our 11-hectare, beautifully landscaped, life sciences R&D site, which provides serviced lab space and offices to rent in Cardiff.

Recently having undergone a £1.5m refurbishment, Cardiff Edge reflects South Wales’ ambition to create an exemplary life sciences ecosystem, connecting business, academia, office space and the public sector at a single location.

As part of the Pioneer Group community, tenants can enjoy a number of advantages and opportunities. We provide a vital and dynamic campus, not just lab space to rent.

The South Wales Life Science cluster is fast growing. Locally there are three universities, two hospitals (£180m Velindre Cancer Care Hospital in planning next door), Life Science Hub Wales, the Wales Life Science Investment Fund, Life Science Bridging Fund and the Life Science National Research Network.

Cardiff Edge is adjacent to Junction 32 of the M4 Motorway and the A470 dual-carriageway. We are an 8 minute walk from Radyr train station and 20 minutes from Coryton Train Station. We are also adjacent to the Taff Trail, a dedicated cycle and pedestrian route running through Cardiff, and roughly 13 miles from Cardiff International Airport.

Holiday Inn Cardiff (0.9 Miles)

Just off the M4 on junction 32, it’s what you expect, bright colours, free parking, Wi-Fi, clean rooms, standard food and good customer service. Unlike many Holiday Inn properties, however, this has a small indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Beauty treatments are available, pre-book, you’ll want a massage after a long day of meetings. A Starbucks coffee shop, a pool table in the sports bar, and a pillow menu help make your stay enjoyable. We would say, it’s not somewhere for a week but perfect for a night or two. Take a look.

Manor Parc (4.1 Miles)

Situated in quiet gardens, just off the M4 motorway and 5 miles from Cardiff city centre, Manor Parc has views of the mountains, free parking and Wi-Fi. The Orangerie Restaurant offers fine dining, looks out over a terrace and the hotel’s gardens. Double rooms start from £130 for a night, with a Full breakfast. Click to book.

New House Country Hotel (5.6 Miles)

Grade 2 listed country house, originally built by a wealthy Welsh industrialist, Thomas Lewis, in the 1730s. New House is a country hotel located in Thornhill, just outside of Cardiff. Good service, modern country bedrooms, a small bar and a gym. Sequoias restaurant is named after evergreen trees (a huge one in the grounds with a seven-metre circumference). Menus are predominantly British, with the occasional European nudge, and big on meat – slow-cooked Usk Valley beef, belly pork with a hazelnut crust, Welsh lamb shoulder. Double rooms start from £125, year-round. Breakfast included. Free Wi-Fi. Take a look.
